hey guys. All the lockdown and pandemic has literally made me fall in love with the couch and Netflix. I started watching more series and movies than ever and that has led me to put up a blog post like this about some of the series and tv shows that I loved watching this year. So here are some Series to Watch on Netflix
Alienist
The psychological thriller “The Alienist,” set in 1896 New York among its tremendous wealth, abject poverty, and technical progress, is based on the best-selling book by Caleb Carr. Theodore Roosevelt, the police commissioner who had just been appointed, asks Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, a criminal psychologist, newspaper illustrator John Moore, and police department secretary Sara Howard to help him with a covert investigation into the grisly murders of boy prostitutes, which have been committed by a serial ritualistic killer. The bright, fixated Kreizler is regarded as an alienist, a person who examines mental disorders and the abnormal behaviors of people who are cut off from society and themselves.
1899
I started watching this series as I was bored, without expecting anything, but I had a great time watching it. This one is a terrifying mystery series which is encountered by a few international emigrants sailing from the old continent to the new one a ship which ends up getting lost at sea when they go around looking for another ship which had disappeared months ago. 1899 is a limited series to watch on Netflix.
Dracula
In order to meet a prospective client and complete the sale of a stately home in London, Jonathan Harker journeys to Transylvania. However, he soon finds himself trapped in a horrific castle full of zombie brides and a vampire Count who wants to rule the entire world. the portrayal of Dracula in this limited series is more of a serious yet comedy type, also the climax got me all baffled. you would never expect the climax even if you tried. I guarantee that.
Wednesday
Wednesday is more of a young adult series which me being in my early 20’s enjoyed as well. A young not-so-normal girl named Wednesday strives so hard to control her developing psychic gift while she was expelled from her normie school and started attending Nevermore Academy. She also attempts to stop a killing spree that’s been happening around the small town and unravel the mystery her parents were hiding for almost 20 years.
Manifest
The flight Montego Air 828 lands at JFK airport after being disappeared for years. 191 passengers, who haven’t aged at all, attempts to reintegrate into the new society as they are being presumed dead for all these years. But frightening truths are revealed as the story continues, their life is almost ruined. Hence a recommended series to watch on Netflix.
Mindhunter
Mindhunter is more of an intriguing psychological thriller than a mystery series. the protagonist solves and evaluate multiple crimes without any dramatic suspense or mystery taking in account of the psychology of serial killer. It is frequently necessary for law enforcement to enter a criminal’s head in order to understand how he thinks to apprehend him. Agents, namely Holden Ford and Bill Tench working for the FBI are in charge of that. They examine numerous prisoned psyches of serial killers in an effort to comprehend and apprehend them. The agents set the tone for contemporary serial-killer profiling along the way.
Friends
Friends has always been one of my favorites always because of the innocent wit and the characters. Just like most people does I have re-watched friends like several times and that always is a stress relief for me. I know friends isn’t something you have never heard of, but if you are a person who haven’t watched it yet, give it a try! You would never regret it for sure. hence this definitely comes under the long list of Series to Watch on Netflix.
Money Heist
My boyfriend introduced this series to me, and I wasn’t much interested in this at first because I’m not an action crime series fan. I thought this series was all about that but once i started watching it i couldn’t put my phone away as I was soo much into this series. The plot of this series is really interesting and exciting. The story revolves around a group of robbers who doesn’t even know each other’s names because that would increase the risk of getting caught. Hence calls each other by city names. There’s friendship, romance, action, drama. Don’t miss this one out.
Dark
Dark is a German series that says a story about time travel. If you are a person who is interested in time travel and sci-fi. this one is for you. It also has an investigative narration where everybody is looking for answers. To be honest, some episodes are too long and time lagging but at the end its all worth it. Hence a must Series to Watch on Netflix.
The Big Bang Theory
Honestly speaking, I’m not a huge fan of this series. Yet its a comedy drama which falls into the same category as friends. Google recommended this to me while i was deliberately searching for series which could make me laugh. It did have some good humor as well. Yet i felt some of them were too far sensitive and offensive. Probably you would end up not liking some of the main characters lol. Still, you guys do give it a try.
Sherlock
It’s like always save the bests for the last, isn’t it? sherlock is a masterpiece! I was binge watching it day and night until the final episode. After watching the last episode my mind was so void and felt like the only reason to live is over lol. I was also honestly very disappointed when i heard that the production was not planning for a new season… WORTH WORTH! WORTH!
Brooklyn nine nine
Brooklyn nine nine is like the friends of our generation. The friendship and the comedy that derives from them are so heartwarming and at the same time extremely funny. The Brooklyn 99 is a must watch for people who are into pleasant comedy. I assure you that you would get addicted to it and also binge it in the coming future lol.
